Boscovivo was established in 1982 in Arezzo by the Landucci family. The principal aim of this truffle producer has always been combining innovation with tradition by personally dealing with the selection of ingredients and actively collaborating with some Italian universities to guarantee high quality products.

Boscovivo was the first to introduce different kinds and sizes of truffle on the market and the first in 1986 to study the natural extraction of the truffle aroma in collaboration with the University of Viterbo. Boscovivo has also been the first to promote truffle by teleselling, proposing at the beginning of the 1990s new recipes and products such as thinly sliced truffle, white truffle sauce or truffle-flavoured pecorino cheese. Boscovivo has also been the first in the area to approach the on-line sale of its products.

Since 1998 Alfredo Landucci, one of the most important expert of truffle in Italy, is a consultant for Italian authorities investigating on frauds related to truffle and since 2012 he is chairman of Assotartufi, the national association of truffle producers, as well as being a consultant for the Committee on Agriculture at the Italian Parliament.

Apart from truffle, Boscovivo produces other kinds of food packaged in different sizes to meet the needs of restaurants, caterers, suppliers and families:

  • Truffle (fresh or preserved)
  • Porcini mushrooms (dried, frozen and porcini mushroom-flavoured olive oil)
  • Truffle products (thinly sliced truffle, sauces, butter, truffle-flavoured olive oil, honey and truffle flour)
  • Tuscan specialties (meat sauce, chicken liver pâté, pecorino cheese)
  • Vinegar (balsamic and flavoured)
  • Jams

The Boscovivo products received several prizes and awards, such as the American Taste Award for white truffle-flavoured olive oil and white truffle sauce and the Dino Villani Award for chicken liver pâté, which is faithful to the original recipe.

10.00: Demonstration of truffle hunting with dogs and explanation of the features, history, tradition and legends related to truffle during a nice walk
11.00: Transfer to the Boscovivo plant to see how truffle is selected and prepared and how truffle-flavoured products are made
12.00: Cooking class at Boscovivo to attend the preparation of two recipes with truffle chosen according to the season, one with black truffle and one with white truffle.
12.50: Happy hour at Boscovivo shop
13.30: Lunch at Podere Il Riccio to taste a seasonal menu with truffle recipes:
  • Starter with truffle crostini, pecorino cheese with truffle-flavoured honey, cold cuts with truffle and Tuscan crostini
  • Rice with artichokes and black truffle or tagliolini with white truffle
  • Cinta Senese pork cubes with truffle and seasonal vegetables
  • Crostata with pears from Valdichiana caramelized in Chianti wine sauce
  • Local red wine and coffee
